What do you think these are? It's hard to get a sense of scale, since
both animals are pretty much on top of the camera. The first looks like
fisher to me, and the second like mink.

We (formerly Nashaway Trackers) are a group of loosely connected nature lovers who enjoy sharing our observations and discoveries about the fauna and flora of the northeastern US. Most of us are especially interested in mammal tracks and sign, but we also post about birds, insects, plants, etc.
The second one could be a fisher too: those teddy bear ears. Lydia
ReplyDeleteMore information is necessary in order to solve the mystery of the mustelid in that second photo, Dan. I think you should take a photo of the Keeping Track ruler at the approximate distance from the camera as the critter's. Then we'll have the scale we need to judge its size.
