Goldenrod Crab Spider

Janet posts for Bob Z, who noticed a large butterfly grounded in our vegetable garden.  A closer look revealed why this tiger swallowtail would fly no more.  The spider is Misumena vatia, I think.  It does not spin a web.  Instead, it waits at flowers, ready to grasp unsuspecting insect visitors, such as this butterfly.
