Rabbit Kill
By Susan: I've seen more rabbit sign in my woods this winter than ever before. This morning I came across a fresh kill site. I'm guessing the rabbit was taken by a bird and eaten in a tree because all I found was fur. Perhaps one of the great horned owls I've been hearing lately got lucky. Not far from the kill site, I saw where the rabbits have been foraging on hemlock, and also taking advantage of shelter afforded by our shed.

As you can see, I blew it on my first entry. The 3rd photo was supposed to show rabbit fur, not one of my New Zealand vacation photos. I've been trying to correct this, but keep failing to work the "edit" feature. Also, I initially tried to make the entry straight on the blog, but couldn't tell how to attach pix, so I ended up using the e-mail method. Any advice?
ReplyDeleteI edited the post, deleted the offending vacation photo, and added the correct photo by re-uploading it and adding it to the post.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dan (I presume). I appreciate your assistance. Wish I knew why I was unable to do what you did. I'm going to attempt to delete my most recent entry, the duplicate fur photo.
ReplyDeleteThat rabbit run coming out from your shed would be a great place to put the group's camera. Put it about 9" off the ground and a foot or two off the trail, pointing back at an angle nearly parallel to the trail.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is you'll get pictures of rabbits. :^) [Dan]
Thanks for the suggestion. I'd love to try the camera there, as soon as I can wrest it from Janet, who has grander plans for it at the moment.
